Tribute to Dr. Kurt Schlotthauer, founder of Coffra group
With deep sorrow, we bid farewell to Dr. Kurt Schlotthauer, the founder of our firm and Chairman of our Supervisory Board, who passed away at the age of 84 after a short but serious illness.
A German lawyer and auditor by profession, he settled in Paris in 1972 with his wife. Early on, he was among the pioneers who obtained dual professional qualifications in both Germany and France, laying the foundations for his extraordinary life’s work.
After several years with a major international firm, he founded Coffra group in 1985 with the unwavering support of his wife and a few of his closest colleagues, driven by a clear vision: to offer interdisciplinary advisory services, particularly to German companies establishing themselves in France. Thanks to his determination and tireless dedication, this vision took shape and continued to grow. Today, Coffra group has 200 employees and 19 partners, serving clients throughout France.
Dr. Kurt Schlotthauer was deeply committed to international relations, particularly between France and Germany. Over the years, he founded and led numerous associations and business clubs (CEFA, Wirtschaftskreis 85…), firmly believing that close cooperation between his home country and his adopted country was essential for peace and prosperity in Europe-a belief that resonates more strongly than ever today.
A man of culture and passion, he was deeply devoted to music and contemporary art, supporting numerous cultural and artistic institutions as a patron. An avid sportsman, he remained dedicated to tennis and swimming throughout his life.
His legacy is invaluable. The entire team at Coffra group will continue his work with the same dedication, upholding the values he embodied throughout his life.
In his honour, a mass will be celebrated on 3 March 2025 at 2.30pm at Saint-Honoré d’Eylau Church, 9 avenue Victor Hugo, Paris 16e. The family does not wish to receive flowers and thanks you for your understanding.
